Bicycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Jun 16, 2010 by Superman | Posted in Cycling

Hello all. Where can i get a nice good cheap mountain bike (£50 - £80) from? I was thinking Halfords? But ive looked on there website and their bikes on there are £120 + ! . Anywhere else to purchase one from? Thanks.

I am with WLE Atlanta on this one. However, as a general rule. Do not buy a cheap bike that is trying to do too much. For that price you can get a full suspension disc brake equiped mountain bike from Tescos, that will fall apart as soon as you ride

Feb 07, 5493 by Kazuki C | Posted in Cycling

I would like to purchase a bicycle for my daily transport to work & home. I stay Thomson road work place location at botanic garden. Any1 have an ideal what type of bicycle suitable for such distance? Where should I purchase from? I have not ideal

Go to a local bike shop and tell them what you want. I have no idea of the distance you are riding. I may be wrong but it's sounds like you want a commuter bike.

What is a bicycle timeline and some very important events that have happened?

Dec 03, 2009 by Renee | Posted in Other - Cars & Transportation

I need information like, who invented the bicycle, what materials was it made of, when and who invented the wheel for the bicycle. Links are generously appreciated! Thanks!

In 1817 Baron von Drais invented a walking machine that would help him get around the royal gardens faster: two same-size in-line wheels, the front one steerable, mounted in a frame which you straddled.

The device was propelled by pushing

What kind of stores sale a bicycle pump and what is a fair price?

Feb 07, 7189 by cleoland13 | Posted in Cycling

I what to buy a bicycle so I could get back home from my work faster and so I saw this bicycle at a Goodwill store, but the tires need some inflation and so I want to know if they are good or not good tires. I want to buy a bicycle pump for that but I

All the answers are good but left out one important thing- buy a pump with a built in pressure gauge. It's important to use the right pressure and you need a gauge to do that. In US, <$20.

What are those bicycle-cart vehicles that look like a paddleboat with bicycle tires called?

Jul 20, 2009 by cheeriogrl732 | Posted in Cycling

I remember my best friend in the 1970's had a bicycle-like cart that we would ride. I believe it was a fiberglass body that seated 2 in the front and had a bench seat in the back - kind of like a paddleboat. It had a steering wheel of somesort. And I

Surrey or pedicab. We had one, and had a lot of fun with it.

AIDS/LifeCycle riders rest during emotional journey

10.06.11

Big smiles, tired legs and — on this, the fifth day of the 10th annual AIDS/LifeCycle benefit bicycle ride — red, red and more red.

It was enough to create a striking ribbon of scarlet flowing along the hilly roads from Santa Maria to River Park in Lompoc on Thursday.

Day five of the 545-mile journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles is Red Dress Day, when the riders dress in red to symbolize the red AIDS ribbon.

“Red is the color of love,” said Kenney Norman, 23, of Los Angeles, nursing a sore, “pregnant” knee on his second AIDS ride.

“There was so much love in the HIV community,” he said, offering an explanation for the choice of the color red to represent AIDS.

After pedaling hours from Santa Maria, the 2,350 bike riders began arriving at River Park in the early afternoon for an overnight stay. They will leave the park this morning, travel south on Highway 1 and spend the evening in Ventura County and reach Los Angeles on Saturday.

The Tyee – In Vancouver, No Traction for a Bicycle Backlash

by Niamh Scallan

It's rage against the bicycle on a popular Vancouver afternoon drive show.

Radio sportscaster Dave Pratt of the Pratt and Taylor Show , "the sports fanatics' #1 choice on the drive home," has a reputation across the Lower Mainland for his daily rants about all things sports.

But lately, the middle-aged, leather-pants-wearing bachelor has embarked on a personal vendetta against Vancouver city council for its bike-friendly behaviour. Mayor Gregor Robertson's dream of a downtown network of separated bike lanes has created a traffic nightmare for commuters trying to get to and from work, he says.

"They've got traffic tied up in every different direction coming in and out of town for no good reason," Pratt told the Tyee. "It's an enormous waste of money."

Pratt speaks for the city's car-driving commuters who stand to lose from council's costly cycling initiatives, he says. But much to his despair, two wheels seem to trump four at City Hall these days, where politicos from all three parties on council stand united in their goal to be the greenest city in the world.
