I'm working on a project that is powered by bicycle cranks, and space is an issues, so I'm wondering what the largest and smallest crank arm sizes are available? The type i need are the older crank arms (?) that don't have the star thing on one end (yea,
The ball bearings on my bicycle crank are broken. How should I fix it?

The ball bearings that keep the crank in place when I pedal all broke. I can't pedal it now without them wobbling and the chain popping off. Is there any way I can shore it up before I spend too much money to have it fixed?
Sounds to me like you need to have the bottom bracket replaced, and probably the chainrings too. Unless you have the necessary tools, those things are best done at a bike shop. I had to have similar repairs done on my mountain bike.. Cost me $50 to

Is there a way to repair a stripped pedal mount on a bicycle crank arm? Or do I need to replace the crank arm?

It is the right side crank arm. I've tried to remove it but I don't know how. I removed the dust cap and nut, but it won't budge. If I can just repair the pedal mount somehow that might be easier.

If your pedal mount is stripped out, then you will have to replace it. Even if the pedal still threads into the crank, any loosness will quickly cause the pedal/crank connection to fail.
You can purchase inexpensive single crank arms from a

Moving on From Vandalism Fears, Times Tries New Bike-Share Scare Tactics
07.02.45
In its apparently boundless desire to see transportation innovation fail in New York City, the Times ran a remarkably shoddy and one-sided piece over the weekend on the city’s developing bike-share plans . Perhaps having realized that successful bike-share systems are cropping up in too many cities to keep on referring to the same image of Parisian public bikes “hanging from tree limbs or floating in the Seine” (Washington, Denver, and Minneapolis have had almost no problems with theft and vandalism), the Times is sowing doubt in other ways.
Before contractors have even been selected to run NYC’s bike-share system, the Times has duly reported that the project is “plagued by questions of its viability.” To bolster the argument, reporter Christine Haughney quotes no transportation planners and cites no experts on the economics of bike-sharing. Instead she lets perennial SoHo crank Sean Sweeney set the tone for a piece full of speculation and mistakes.
Seat height compared cyclocross bike with road bike seat height?
I have had great difficulty in setting the height of seat my cyclocross bike as my road bike shows. Part of problem is different pedals / shoes for each facility. Road bike has about Speedplay X2 11 mm stack height (including the bagpipe?) Shoes are Sidi Genius 3s. Cross bike has Crank Bros Candy SL with a stack height of 15 mm. The Lake MTB shoes are. Position is approximately the same length. Crank arms are 175 mm for the two bikes. Given that information, would you say that the seat of the bike cross should be 4 mm higher than the road bike? My right knee is very sensitive to a seat that is too low or too high, and now I can not seem to duplicate the road bike.
I'm not exactly sure why this is a problem. Why measure anything? I got the seat height of my bike independently of each other. I simply mount and make adjustments by trial and error. Knowing what I want is everything you need to make adjustments. Pedals, cranks security models none of that matters as the out come is the standard height used for himself. It takes me a little more time to dial in the length of the stem and the front seat and aft adjustment.
