Is it difficult finding 27 x 1 1/4 bicycle tires in Europe?

May 06, 2008 by Noah M | Posted in Cycling

I'm traveling to spain and thinking about bringing my 80s era Nishiki road bike. Is it hard finding 27 x 1 1/4 tires in Europe?
Thanks!

That is true. 27 X 1 1/4 was primarily a North American size. 700 X 25, 700 X 28, etc. were and are still the European standard. 27 X 1 1/4 is also just about phased out in the U.S. now which makes the 700 sizes the world standard.

Okay.... 27 tires... Ya burn those babies....
Take the spokes from the bicycle frames and use them to roast weenies (yes, I said weenies)
The old refrigerator will still keep cold beer cold (cuz it wont be there long)
And the barb

Are there kevlar bicycle tires for a 27' 1' 1/4" wheels?

May 07, 2008 by sf_bernardo | Posted in Cycling

If so, who makes them or where can I purchase them?

I have an old Schwinn ten speed that has 27' 1' 1/4" wheels. Unfortunately, the tires for that size rim are too thin to stand up to the uneven pavement and debris and potholes you

Yes.....not easy to find in shops, but any shop can order them for you. I've been really happy with the Panaracer Pasela tires....they come in a folding bead with a kevlar belt and aren't expensive. Specialized (Armadillo) and Continental also make

What can I use to repair bicycle tires and inner tubes?

Feb 07, 3639 by Harold | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)

I have two bike tired (27 x 1 1/8) that are a little torn up, along with the inner tubes, which I believe may have holes in them. What sort of materials should I use. I'm going to cheap, easy, and effective.

When completely covered with the adhesive, pieces of old innertube make excellent patches, but small kits can be picked up at a dollar store.

The best patch job is semi permanent but should not be trusted - especially while asphalt temperatures

What fender size will fit my bicycle with 27 x 1/4" tires?

Feb 06, 2009 by Clayton V | Posted in Cycling

I think you mean 27 X 1 1/4" tires. I have that tire size on my tandems rear and a 700C x 28mm on the front. Most of the fender list the sizes they are compatible in mms. 1 1/4" is about the same size as 28-30mm. You want a road fender that

Marine's cross-country trip ends in Bethany

07.02.83

BETHANY BEACH -- On his bicycle journey across the country, Marine Maj. Bill Conner's friends were never far from his thoughts.

"A lot of times when you have a tail wind, the (American) flag will be tapping you on the shoulder," he said about the flag that was flown in Iraq by Maj. Doug Zembiec, who was killed in 2007 during combat. "Anytime I felt the flag tapping me on the back, I always thought of Doug just tapping me on the shoulder and saying, 'Hey, keep on going.' "

Conner cycled 3,113 miles from San Diego to Bethany Beach to raise money for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, set up to provide immediate financial support for injured and critically ill members of the military and their families. He ended his trek on May 27 by dipping the front tire of his bike into the Atlantic Ocean.

Conner set out on Easter Sunday with a goal of raising $35,500 through the Semper Fi Ride Across America campaign. As of last week, donations totaled $30,816.

"I think it's important for us to remember and honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice," he said. "It's also important for us to take care of those Marines and other service members who have been injured, some of them with life-changing injuries."

Kenda K35 Road Wire Bead Bicycle Tire, Skinwall, 27-Inch x 1-1/4-Inch

by admin

I’m just getting my bike back in shape for some summer riding and been on these for a month now. This tire suits my needs for something inexpensive and decent quality. No, they aren’t racing tires, and you might look elsewhere if you’re a daily commuter or like to take your bike on paths…but I’m happy with the way they roll compared to the 8 year old balding Kendas I had before. In case anyone cares about the actual look of the tire, the walls of this tire are yellow/tan, not black, and there is some amount of rubber run-over on the tread, easily handled by a pair of scissors. Tires shipped safe, but there was a delay of a week in shipping. Would I buy them again? Yep.
