How do you teach a dog to ride in a basket while you go bike riding?

I have a 2 year old poodle and i have been trying to teach him to teach him how to sit in a bike basket while im riding the bike, but he keeps trying to jump out. Can someone please tell me how to teach him to stay in the basket?

Jeez, people, don't overcomplicate this. A few heavy duty cable ("zip") ties will keep the basket safe from anyone without a decent blade. They're light, cheap, readily available and won't f-up the bike.

I just bought a metal basket for my beach cruiser and i want to make a liner since i cant afford any....I read some pages about buying a yard of fabric and stuff, but i was just thinking i could buy like 4 bandanas and sew them in the shape, then tie

Bandanas would work I think but you could also just use an old pillow case cut to size or in the hobby/fabic stores you can buy scrap material in different sizes for like a buck. Good luck!

She is a 3 pound pom/yorkie mix and I like to bike ride and I want to take her with me it is like a basket in the front of the bike for a dog. Does anyone know where I can get one for my dog for cheap?

im not sure.but i don't think that is very safe for your dog she could jump out and run away and if u got in an accident or fell your dog could get seriously injured

There aren't many choices for bike baskets. So I want to find a regular basket to put on it. But is that possible? How would I attach it to the bike? What would I need? It needs to be able to support the basket enough to hold a 7 pound dog.

Ordered two these about a month ago and used for the first time yesterday.

They take seconds to install on the bike and have plenty of room for our toy Australian Shepards. After running around for about an hour, we took them for a ride and they loved it. I would recommend a harness on the dogs instead of a collar. The smaller aussie is very agile and managed to climb on top of the basket. If she had leapt or fallen before I got her back inside, she would have been hanging by her neck. Other than that they both seemed very comfortable after a few minutes and curious about everything around them that they could now see from above. The basket has a padded bottom and the basket retains it’s shape well (no collapsing). It does however, collapse easily for nearly flat storage. Being in an RV we love that since space is limited.

Downside-they are VERY PRICEY in my opinion. With the materials and construction, though very good, I believe the product is overpriced and the company is taking advantage of the fact that something like this is hard to find. It would be nice if they advertised a little and went for profit by volume so more people could afford it.
