Yes, put a rear rack on the bike. Add a stainless steel wire basket on the rear. I have ours attached semi permanently with 3 U bolts and wing nuts. Works Great! Easy to remove the

Minus the super wide rear tire that would require a frame mod.
A basket case is only good if you plan on taking a long time and getting your parts at swap meets. Some parts can be very expensive, otherwise. It would be easier to save the bank account if you start with an old runner instead. If you make your changes

I have just bought a new bike but now have little money left. I have a rear mounted luggage rack but want a front mounted basket. I have found ones to buy myself but are they easy to fit? Do i need a front luggage rack or anything like that??

Ok, I plan to hang my bike in my apartment so it takes no floor space. The reason intially was because the bike kickstand was scraping the wood floor and then adding a basket behind the bike for carrying stuff limited how wide I could open the entrance
They only thing I don't like about that rack is, it hangs into the room. Back in the 70's I hung my chrome racing bike on the wall and made it the art for that room. Here's a link to what I'm talking about. I also noticed Amazon has the rack you like

Here’s the set-up that I use not only for weekly shopping at the Union Square Greenmarket in Manhattan, but also for daily errands around town. Swap out the vegetables for a purse or small briefcase, an extra pair of shoes, and in this heat, a fresh shirt, and this system takes you to the office as well. For destinations with a coat or bag check, I stow my helmet and outerwear in the basket and offload the whole thing. Easy.
