what is the difference between a 3-pc 8-Spline crankset and just a 3-pc crankset?
Aug 07, 2008 by Jake | Posted in Cycling
which is better for bmx.
The 8 spline refers to the way the cranks are connected to the bottom bracket. The first link is showing a 8 spline bottom bracket and the second one is showing the square taper style.
You will find the higher quality bikes will have the 8 spline

Buying an intermediate BMX?
Feb 07, 4317 by MaddGuss | Posted in Cycling
Hello all. Ive been riding a Haro F1 2006 since then, and id like to upgrade to a better BMX of intermediate level.
Ive searched around a bit and id like a good BMX including the following specifications:
-Weight less than 30 lbs
Your being very specific with what your looking for, which I like. However you might want to be flexible on some of the stuff. $500 USD can easily get you a full chromoly frame with 25/9 gearing but as the bike gets better, usually frames and handlebars

new bmx rider, help with old bike, or new one?
Feb 07, 548 by Vincent V | Posted in Cycling
im just starting bmx and i have a diamondback viper, 06. its still new and everything, the paint only has a few scuffs here and there and it has a 1pc crank installed on there.
this christmas i planned on buying a whole new crankset, BB, chainwheel,
I'd go for the mirraco, a cassette hub and micro gearing is a nice upgrade.

Ways To Have The Right BMX Cranks
There are so many different shapes and sizes of BMX Cranks. It depends on huge number of factors that they range them. They can be the quality of the crank, the bike their designed for, to the rider that's using them. So a child's BMX Bike will have different sized cranks to an adults BMX Bike.
As far as child's bikes go, there isn't too much hassle with respects to how big and strong the cranks are. In general the cranks are designed to suit every rider as an average. As the riders are children, these averages seem to work well, and the strength is not an issue when it comes to the type of riding the children will be doing.
Adults on the other hand need to take more care with respects to what BMX Cranks they choose to put on their bike. Depending on if they wish to sit down on their seat or not, the size of the cranks can determine the difficulty in pedaling. If they are too small there will be a large amount of effort required to turn the sprocket. What is important thing that you should know when you create a scrapbooking? The answer is scrapbook paper. You do not just use plain art papers here but the texture, and the length of the paper would definitely matter. The paper that you will be choosing should complement the accessories and other art stuff included in designing your scrapbook. So, which ways to choose the right paper If they are too large, rotating the cranks can be awkward.
