i came across a truvativ elita crankset from my shop. only problem is the non drive side arm has stripped pedal threads and they are too far gone to tap.
the rest of the set is in great condition and i even have the bottom bracket for it.
EpicRacer you are the Lefty! we were looking for a few weeks back -- seriously there is a question in here somewhere (i just cant find it this minute) where the dude had a left crank he wanted to sell. You might get lucky and it's a TruVativ. Go through

crankset replacememt?
Feb 07, 7700 by John S | Posted in Cycling
can i replace a single gear crankset with a multiple gear crankset (i was thinking maybe a three gear crankset)? there is a road bike that i want with a single gear crankset and a 5 gear cassette. can i replace the cassette with a seven or nine gear cassette
You might be able to do it. The big question is if there will be enough clearance between the chainstay and chainrings.
Beyond this issue, though, are lots and lots of costs. You'll almost certainly need a new bottom bracket to accommodate

If I plan to upgrade on my first mountain bike's crankset, what should I get?

Right now I have a single-piece triple crankset, on which the rings are 24-34-42 in size. It has been creaking, as well as making other funny noises. Also the teeth have been bending, so I'm thinking it's not very good. I want to get a solid, stiff
You may want to look at this one. It has everything you want and is cheap. You will have to buy a new bottom bracket to go with it. Nashbar can help you with it as well.

Any fellow bike techs out there? I can't seem to remedy this problem: '04 K2 Zed team frame, bb shell threads in good shape. There's a single click sound coming from that area every right-hand pedal downstroke under power. I replaced the bottom bracket,
The bottom bracket is too lose. You need to tighten the bracket a little more. Place the cranks in a vertical position, grab the top of the arm for leverage and check for play. If the shaft moves at all it's too lose, too tight the bearings will feel

Went back in the drawer: Two puzzle boxes. They're just neat. At the moment, I can't get the clear one open. I know how, but it seems stuck. The other wooden one is from Russia and has Russian coins inside. I wouldn't say I collect them (since I only have two), but they're kinda neat. Also, one of the two hand-crank flashlights. The other one will probably end up in my car. I do have two other flashlights (a massive head-cracking MagLight under my mattress) and a tiny LED one on my nightstand, so a hand-crank one might not be necessary. Maybe next clean-out it'll move. My little ZipZap car also went back in. It's really old, an early gift from Lori. Still works but only on the linoleum floor in our bathroom, not this wooden floor here. Four pens, two of which have sentimental value, all four of which work. The envelope full of photos. The loyalty cards (to deal with later), the small pouch with a few...
The thoroughly overhauled crankset ditches the old foam core methods for true hollow carbon fiber construction for both the arms and spider tabs. Additionally, the BB30-specific non-driveside arm uses a co-molded spindle. Combined with the entirely new
This is true of everything from single pivot bikes to more complicated multi-link machines, although some will also employ custom shock tuning to either enhance suspension activity, or as a crutch to cover up bad pedalling traits.
