What fixie should I get for $300-400?Also, What's a good 1" threaded road fork for $100 or less?

May 17, 2009 by Kazuma | Posted in Cycling

I am interested in getting a new fixie. Complete built, brakes are optional. Also, I need a new 1" threaded road fork for my brother's bike.

Will take all options into consideration.

Thanks in advance!

The threaded road fork you need can be found on www.ebay.com [category-Sporting Goods\CYCLING/Road bike parts]---either get a brand new or mint condition road fork ---the fixie may be available upon your surfing it.

Will this headset fir my road bike?

Jan 20, 2010 by N | Posted in Cycling

I have just bought a 1 inch steerer tube carbon road bike fork and stem for my oldish road bike and was wondering if this headset would work with my frame and forks.

As long as both are 1 inch and threadless then you're good to go

Can a 1 1/8 fork be used on a 1 steerer tube?

May 18, 2010 by earmstr4 | Posted in Cycling

I have a carbon fork that I acquired that is 1 1/8. But my road bike right now has a threaded 1 fork. Is there anyway I can use my new fork on my bike? Also if I have a older bike that has a 1 1/8 steerer tube is there anyway I can switch the steerer

Nope, sizes don't work.
If you had a 1" fork on a 1 1/8" steerer tube, there are adapters to fit, but it's still not ideal.
The way you have it, the fork won't fit through the tube.

URGENT!!! Will a 1 1/8 suspension fork fit my 1993 specialized rockhopper?

Jul 03, 2008 by James S | Posted in Cycling

I wanted to put a suspension fork on my specialized rock hopper mountain bike. I want this fork, and need to know if it will fit. I need legitimate answers

The bike has a 1 inch steertube.
The fork on ebay is not a mountain fork,it's a 700 hybrid fork.
Not for 26" wheels.
The bomber can be used if you buy a new crown/steerer for it.The Bomber has a stock 1 1/8th steel steer tube.Pressed

What fork will fit my road bike?

Mar 08, 2010 by love the help | Posted in Cycling

How do I know which one will fit my road bike?

This is what I know (that I think will help determine which size I need):
1. Headset- FSA Integrated, threadless, 1 1/8”
2. Tires- 700 x 23c
3. Handlebar- 31.8mm

You just need a threadless 700c fork with a 1 1/8" steerer tube. If you buy new, the steerer tube should be long enough & you can trim to fit. If you want to be sure about the steerer length, you can measure the head tube of the frame, add the

USA Pro Cycling Challenge for Millennium Promise (UCI 2.1)

07.02.21

BOULDER, Colorado (VN) – Two 12,000-plus-foot mountain passes. An iconic, uphill time trial above 8,000 feet. Two perfect ramps for late attacks in Crested Butte and Breckenridge. Likely bunch finishes in Steamboat Springs and Denver.

There will be a little bit for everyone when organizers announce the route for the inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge for Millennium Promise in Colorado Monday.

“The Tour de France has Col du Galibier which crests at 8,600 feet, the Giro d’Italia has Passo Giau which crests at 7,300 feet, but the USA Pro Cycling Challenge has Cottonwood Pass and Independence Pass both cresting at 12,000 feet. What’s really remarkable is that the athletes will ride both these passes in one stage,” said race co-chairman Shawn Hunter. “There is no better place in the world for athletes to test their endurance and pure athleticism than Colorado, and there is no better place to watch a professional cycling race than in the Colorado Rockies.”

I bought the Sportiva ("Sport" Select Series) recently and have put about 120 miles on it so far. If there was something wrong or cheap about it I probably would have discovered it by now. I decided on a large frame size (I'm 6') and it is just right. The only assembly required was put the front wheel on, saddle on, reflectors, handle bar, a few ot...   Read More Top #1 Best Specialized Road Bike 2010 reviews Review by Jus1Dread (Aberdeen, SD) 2007-05-11
I purchased this bike a few weeks ago and there was no information available other than the same recycled product description on 50 different sites. So I figured it was important to add my 2 cents for potential buyers. I don't know what a $1,000+ ride feels like but for $300 I have gotten the road biking experience that I was hoping for.
